Current voice teaching activities
Discovering her passion for teaching during her years of studies, Patricia Moreno has started her work as a vocal coach for Jazz and Popular Music. She has been working as a Senior Lecturer for Voice Training at the University for Music and Dramatic Arts Universität Mozarteum Salzburg since 2016. Furthermore, she taught at the Department for Popular Music (IPOP) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and at the Jam Music Lab University for Jazz and Popular Music in Vienna, Austria.
Her approach on teaching covers the usage of the voice as an original medium for conveying messages and emotions in a direct way towards the listener. The work on technique and stylistic skills is an important aspect in this process and functions as the fundamental basis for a vocalist’s individual song interpretation. Working as a vocal coach for actors, Patricia Moreno has gotten the opportunity to experience a new approach on lyrical interpretation, which influences not only they way she teaches song interpretation but also reflects in her own way of interpreting songs. In addition to that, she works with her students on their abilities to express themselves musically in an experimental, improvisational way. This involves singing with an intstrumental approach, and exploring the freedom of vocal creativity.
