Current voice teaching activities
Patricia Moreno is Senior Lecturer for Voice Training at the University for Music and Dramatic Arts Universität Mozarteum Salzburg. Furthermore, she taught at the department for Popular Music at the University of Music and Performing arts Vienna and at the Jam Music Lab University for Jazz and Popular Music in Vienna, Austria.
Her approach to teaching covers usage of the voice as an original medium to convey messages and emotions. The work on technique and stylistic skills is an important aspect in this process, though should be seen as a means to an end for a vocalist’s individual song interpretation. In addition to that, she works with her students on their abilities to express themselves musically in an experimental, improvisational way. This involves singing with an intstrumental approach, and exploring the freedom for vocal creativity.
